This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. This impressive piece stands 255mms tall and measures 80mms x 90mms wide at the base. This piece is beautifully signed and dated with an impressed "Auer 2000" mark to the lower side. Walter Auer was born in Campo Tures, Italy in 1957. He studied ceramics at the State Institute of Arts in Faenza.
After he graduated with an Advanced Diploma, he worked with Chin Jukan in Miyama, Japan. He also studied traditional wheel-forming at the studio of Ahmed Berktash in Avanos in Turkey. Walter spent 2 years in Asmara, Eritrea, organising two ceramic training centres in lepers hospitals, before settling in Sydney in 1997. He has taught ceramics at Northern Beaches TAFE since 2002 as a part-time teacher at Brookvale, Gymea and Campbelltown Colleges.
He has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows in Australia and Europe.
