Vintage Tacoma Art Pottery David Keyes Vase Women's Faces Steampunk Art Nouveau
This is a fabulous RARE one of a kind piece of studio art pottery by artist David Keyes, from the 1970s-80s era when he worked at TAP, the Tacoma Art Pottery studio. Vase has an Art Nouveau look to it. Two sides have three dimensional faces. Incised mark TAP and SLH on bottom.
The piece is not marked D. Or David Keyes, however he did not always sign his pieces and sometimes they were only pencil signed which would wear away. This definitely has David Keyes unmistakable design. The detail and artistry of this piece are amazing, his works are very difficult to find, and this one is excellent with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
One corner has what looks like an air bubble that occurred prior to firing (can be seen in first photo left side of woman's bonnet). There is age related crazing throughout. Tiny speck on one face appears to be under the glaze. Photos are taken while rotating the vase clockwise so you can see all four sides, top and bottom. Dimensions: 5" wide x 4.5" deep x 4 tall.
