Vintage ceramic table lamp dating from the 1950s or early 1960s. Both the ceramic base and the bulb holder assembly are in excellent condition and look unused. Body is ceramic with a white ground and fine black painterly stripes.
The front has an abstract modernist painting of vessels in red, yellow, blue and black. Supported on fine tapered black tripod legs of ceramic, intrinsic to the body. Underneath the base it reads (I think - some is a bit illegible): FEBLAND BM5 ITALY.Top has original screw-in assembly of old-style brown plastic and brass metal, with no wiring. Should be straightforward to insert a modern bulb holder unit. The last photo shows it with a basic modern bulb holder unit, this is for example only, wiring not supplied.
Coke can to show size, also not supplied. Lamp height from base to top of screw assembly: 21 cm. Lamp weight: 0.43 kg. Screw assembly inner diameter: 26mm appx. The item "Vintage Studio Art Pottery Lamp Base Tripod Mid Century Modern Atomic 50s 60s" is in sale since Monday, February 1, 2021.
