Richard Bresnahan is an American studio potter who is known for his large-scale stoneware sculptures. He is the co-founder of the Saint John's Pottery in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he currently resides and works. He first studied ceramics at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota, and later apprenticed with potter Peter Voulkos at the University of California, Berkeley. His work is inspired by his rural surroundings, as well as by his Catholic faith. He has exhibited his work internationally, and his work is in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
