Here is a very nice Edwin and Mary Scheier studio pottery coupe shaped bowl with a beautiful semi matte striated flambe gray brown colored glaze with a blue rim. Hand thrown and made of their'50s beige clay clay. The Scheiers taught ceramics at the University of New Hampshire from the late 1930's through the late 1960's and were contemporaries of Gertrude and Otto Natzler, Beatrice Wood, and Maija Grotell. This bowl measures 6 inches in diameter at the widest and 3 3/4 inches high. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. It is signed Scheier inside the foot.
