Robert Picault contributed to the revival of culinary ceramics by updating traditional local forms adorned with geometric lines and designs. His distinctive style gained significant popularity and continues to adorn dining tables to this day. His personal pieces are highly sought after by art collectors. A former student of the School of Applied Arts in Paris, Robert Picault arrived in Vallauris in 1946. In this village of a hundred potters, they collaborated with neighboring ceramists like André Baud, the four potters, and, notably, the Madoura workshop, where he associated with the renowned painter Picasso from 1949 to 1955.
