Pot/Container/Ceramic/Pottery Mexican Folk Art Chiapas Décor Yellow Jaguars

This amazing pot was made in the town of Amatenango del Valle, Chiapas, Mexico. This pot represents Chiapas pottery at it's best. This is a fine example of ancient Mayan pottery technique. Women artisans from the state of Chiapas handcraft these types of pots.

Using local clay and shaped by hand, they are baked on open fires. Afterwards, each pot is meticulous hand painted.

This gorgeous pot has been painted a soft yellow with black designs. What makes this pot so outstanding are the three jaguar figures, whose heads are protruding from the pot. The figurines have been hand made and hand painted with the same soft yellow and black colors. These heads have been attached to the pot.

The pot was made by an unknown artisan. Because the pot has been hand made, there are small blemishes throughout. The lead free pot will be an amazing addition for your home, office or as a special gift.
