Show Stopping Black Clay Folk Art. Omar is from the city of Oaxaca, in San Bartolo Coyotepec, a pottery town with an important tradition in the prehispanic era. His grandparents were potters and his parents are potters, so he has been involved with the mud trade since youth. The process of creation of a black clay vessel is very lengthy and dependent on the weather.

Omar's pieces are totally made by hand, with a traditional pre-Columbian potter's wheel (a bowl placed upside-down with another bowl placed on top). The potter's wheel rotates on its axel. This is how a piece is built and it can take from 5 to 25 days to build depending on the size and complexity of design. His creations are made out of obsessive shaped lines and perfect burnish.

They are creations with a really clear shape and a high quality that surpasses traditional mud work. This is a unique stamp that distinguishes his work and beautiful trade that have lines as a principal element of design, reason why every time he finishes a piece he signs it with straight lines as a tribute to his beginnings. Custom Pottery Ring by Omar is included.
