Offering this fine decorated medium pitcher in greens, purples and blues with drawing of an exotic bird parading about by noted Claremont California artist and educator Lindley Mixon. Mixon taught many of the great ceramic artists of that time period while also producing his own great body of work. Pitcher is 6 high and 5 inches wide at the handle.
Pitcher is in good vintage shape but please note it has glaze lost in two sections of the open top. Mixon is often described as a Renaissance Man.
As a creator of Fine Art (ceramics, bronze sculpture, oils watercolor, and digital art), an Educator, a Musician, a Surveyor, an Architect, a Builder, and an Adventurer. FREE GIFT: TS Harlander Collectors - listen up! Decorated with multiple cubist looking fishes, this was one of my very favorite mugs and I would occasionally use it against my better judgement because it was so valuable. Unfortunately it broke on day. I repaired it and it displays pretty nicely however it cannot be used as a mug anymre and because I prefer not to sell damaged and repaired items, I offer it as a free gift with the Mixon pitcher. Mug is 5 tall x 4 ΒΌ inches wide. This Lindley Mixon piece comes from a studio pottery collection that includes Howard Kottler, Frans Wildenhain, Laura Andreson, Betty Feves and many others, all items I have collected in my travels over the years. Recent health issues have compelled me to find new homes for much of this art that has given me so much joy.
