This tall and elegant ceramic vase, which makes an impressive statement anywhere in a room, is from the "Mars" series designed by Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby in Sweden circa 1952.

This highly tactile vase features raised glossy white shapes set over an incised textured black background. Fluff loves the finishing touch of a matching black circle around the top edge. Fully marked with the Upsala Ekeby impression, along with Mari's mark, plus an "UE" stamp along with the number "4071" on the bottom. This stands 30cm tall, 24cm in diameter and 9.5cm in diameter around the top. Unpackaged it weighs almost 1 kilo, 930 grams to be exact. NO nicks, NO chips, NO crazing, NO scratches, absolutely mint condition. That little white area you see on the bottom rim is under the glaze and is NOT a nick!
