Lisa Larson (Large Zoo 1957) Captivating Cat. Lisa Larsons captivating "Cat" (Katt) with a rounded shape and kind expression.
The figurine was decorated by hand in brown tones, giving it a unique touch. Lisa designed the cat as part of the "Large zoo" (Stora zoo) series in 1957. The series consists of 13 large animal figurines. Design Period: 1950 to 1959. Detailed Condition: There are a couple of hairline cracks on the bottom of the sculpture as shown in the photos.
One is very slight and on the surface, the other is a bit deeper and tapers off right above the left front leg. The cracks are not visible when the cat is displayed.
Looks like the cat's paws got a little wet from sitting in water maybe? These are removable stains but I chose to leave them on and not clean the brown water marks. Remains of the original sticker on right front paw denoting Design by Lisa Larson and two other stickers on the belly of the cat; one has fading numbers which I think says N or M 4.25. You can also see some of the workmanship by looking inside the piece, very cool.Note about the photos : I took photos under a few different lights, overcast outdoor, indoor on a wooden table and on a white background. The colors change under different lights pretty dramatically.
The best representation of the actual colors of the piece is in the second photo which was taken outdoors on an overcast day.
