This gorgeous horse is made by master ceramist Pablo Pajarito. This amazing large ceramic horse has been painted with lovely colors of purple, silver, red and pink. There is a hand painted nagual or shape shifter on one side of the horse, along with flowers and leaves. The tail is 11 1/2 long, with real horse hair (No Horse was Harmed).
The tail is held together with a lovely knot of horse hair. Although this horse is not painted in the usual colors of "barro canelo", the colors are wonderful. The specialty of Pajarito family is "barro canelo"; a type of clay that is painted using only mineral pigments from the soil of Tonala. Such pigments give a particular reddish tone to the piece.
Pablo is one of the best potters in Mexico with his works shown in museums in Mexico and throughout the world. Pablo is a dynamic ceramist who also works with communities throughout Mexico in order to help and guide other ceramists to continue and making the traditional pottery art. Pablo continues to mix other Mexican traditions into his work. Pablo creates his ceramics in his kiln and hand paints each and every piece. Great addition to your home, office or as a gift for someone special. We will make sure your beautiful horse is extremely well packed and insured.
