One of our favorite lamps we have come across in years. This red clay pottery lamp has a feather combed glaze like no other we have encountered.
Though no markings are evident on the wood base, we are pretty sure this is by Hyalyn, from their Basketry line of pottery and a very rare lamp. This would look fantastic in your Mid-Century Modern, Craftsman, or Bungalow home. This has the beauty and craftsmanship of pieces you would find in the finest homes. Beautiful patina from the early 1950.
S is present on the brass fittings and solid walnut base. Make sure to check out the original turn knob on the aged brass socket and solid brass finial (included). Shades are used to assist in visualizing lamps. We typically dont include shades unless they are original, in excellent condition and appropriate for the lamp. Shade design is a very personal choice, and our shades are usually not the perfect shape, size, or style.
Measurements: 24H (base to bottom of socket), 6 ¼D across pottery, 7D base. Typical patina on brass and walnut give the lamp the aged to perfection look of true classic lighting.
No cracks, chips, or other damage. As with any vintage lighting, we highly recommend having it professionally rewired. To preserve the beauty of this lamp with new wiring, we suggest having your professional use the original socket casing and switch with a new socket. _gsrx_vers_837 GS 7.0.15 (837).
