It is completely made and painted by hand by Mastro Carla in Deruta. When I say made by hand I mean that each piece is not just hand painted but it is individually hand crafted. Its a new item , in mint conditions - no chips, cracks or crazing, the white MARK ARE DO TO THE CAMERA FLASH. This canister set is extremely detailed and rich in colors, it is guaranteed food safe, because the painting is done using lead-free colors. Deruta, Faenza and Florence all have a special Raffaellesco interpretation in their majolica tradition. The name comes from Raphael, one of the great artists of the Italian Renaissance.

The dragon represent a benevolent power who helps discovery and protects from adversaries and it is one of the grotesque motifs created by Raphael and his school when commissioned by the Pope to paint the Logge Vaticane. Sorry but pictures do not show the real beauty of the piece, the wonderful colors and the fine details. Trust me it is much nicer live! This, at the moment, is the only way to guarantee that it is really made in Italy and not somewhere else. My pieces, of course, are all hand signed under glaze by the artist.

Mastro Carla is known in Deruta as one of the most talented artisans of the village, specialized in the "geometrico" or "vario" pattern as well as in traditional patterns such as Ricco Deruta and Raffaellesco. He started painting very young and made all his experience cooperating with some of the most famous studio of Deruta including the famous Mari. In late 2000 opened the Ceramica studio, from that moment he started giving to our customer the very best Deruta Pottery, that means larges collections of Deruta dinnerware and decorative pieces in the "geometrico" and tradithionals patterns.
