This Descanso Green vase stands approximately 7 3/8 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 7 1/2 inches. Unpacked, this pot weighs 3 pounds 5.4 ounces. It would be a good addition to a Spanish revival or early California bungalow decor.
Identification This piece is marked beneath, CATALINA. It is a vintage red clay piece made on Santa Catalina Island during the late 1920s or early 1930s. Condition This piece displays well overall, but it is not in perfect condition.
There is some damage to the base, as shown in Photos 4, 6, and 7. It has interior rim edge flaking and a re-glued exterior rim chip, as shown in Photo 8. The exterior body has some minor scuffs and a few tiny flakes, as shown. A few tiny, scattered glaze flakes on the lower interior neck are not shown.
