This exceptionally impressive piece features two gazelles arranged to form a wonderfully dynamic yet perfectly balanced design. The beautifully stylised animals are finished in a matte chocolate brown glaze, their forms literally leaping from the magnificently thick, glossy vibrant red glazed background. The textured surface of the pottery shows through the rich red background glaze, adding a magnificent textural element to the design. SIZE: This impressive piece measures approx 235mms square and 35mms in depth. CONDITION: This striking piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no break, cracks, chips or repairs.
This wall plaque has been exceptionally well cared for and presents spectacularly. MARKS: This is an unsigned example which is simply marked the with impressed numerals "3004" to the reverse edge in a manner consistent with European, and in particular, German pieces. The rich red glaze also points to German origins.
